Building Bridges, Empowering Individuals: The Impact of Making Others Feel Valued

“The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated.”

Jerry Garrett here, and this week I’m excited to share a topic with you. Our discussion will be centered on the significance of importance in our interactions and the world of MBA topics.

Wouldn’t it be annoying if someone suddenly pulled out their phone to make a call during a conversation? Our desire for an environment that makes us feel important is universal, regardless of whether we are with a coworker, a friend, or a family member.

What are some ways you can make others feel important to you? The process is much simpler than you think! The following three steps will guide you through the process.
1. Concentrate on what they are saying.
2. Make it clear you are interested through your body language or verbal cues.
3. Request more information by asking follow-up questions.

Ask some questions if the other party is really interested in what they are saying, rather than ignoring them. In addition to making them feel better, you will learn something about something in the process.

Salesmen inside dealerships who say “Hey pal, how are you?” aren’t genuinely interested in you. As long as they close the deal and get their commission, it doesn’t matter how good the deal is.

Remember, it’s not just about making sales or winning people over; it’s about creating meaningful connections. So ask yourself: How much effort do you put into making others feel important? And how can you treat everyone as important, no matter their status or position?]
