I Almost Skipped Shivjot Farm… Glad I Didn’t!

Hey there, it’s me, Jerry Garret, back with another blog post for this week! Today, I’m going to talk about my recent weekend getaway. We went to a place called Shivjot Farm and Resort, which is about a 30-minute drive from our house. And honestly, I think it was one of the best weekend breaks I’ve ever had.

It all started on a Sunday after church. We wanted to take a break, so we planned to stay at Shivjot for one night—arriving on Sunday and leaving on Monday—just to completely relax. And let me tell you, it was amazing.

At first, I underestimated Shivjot because I had considered a few other places that were farther away. Deep down, I felt a little disappointed that we didn’t get to go to those places. But in the end, I was really happy with Shivjot.

First of all, we got a bamboo family suite, which was really nice. There were swimming pools everywhere, with one for each set of rooms, which I found really cool. After taking a quick look around, we headed for lunch. There was a small but nice restaurant on-site, and I have to admit—I totally underestimated the food. It was actually amazing! And considering how reasonably priced it was, it was a great deal.

After lunch, we recorded a few videos like the Tesla video on my channel. And then got some rest for about an hour. I played a few fingerstyle songs on the guitar.

And around five o’clock, I decided to go swimming. My father and I changed into our swimsuits and headed to the pool. But oh my god—it was freezing! Even though the sun was out, the winter air made the water unbearably cold. I knew if I swam, I’d probably end up with a bad cold. So, we decided to check out another pool on the property.

This time, I went all in, completely dipping into the water. And wow—my whole body felt like it was freezing. It was definitely not something I could handle for long. So, feeling disappointed, I got out and went back to the room.

Later, we explored the property a bit more, went cycling, and then it was time for dinner. We had pasta, which was surprisingly good, along with roti, egg curry, and a few other dishes before heading to bed.

The next morning was our last day there, and we had just a few hours left before check-out. We went for breakfast, which was also really good. We had another type of gravy, puri, and eggs. Unfortunately, there was no buffet since it was only available for groups of 20 or more. Because we visited during the winter off-season, the resort was nearly empty—there was just one other family besides us.

After breakfast, we walked around, cycled again (since they had bikes available), and explored the entire property, including the lawn. We wandered for quite a while before heading back to pack up and check out.

After checking out, we had one last delicious lunch, took a final walk around, and then hopped in the car to head home.

Overall, Shivjot was a fantastic experience, and I’m so glad we went. Thanks for reading—I can’t wait to share my next blog post with you!
