Hey there, it’s me Jerry Garrett. Today I’m going to be talking about a recent experience of mine where I went to my dad’s office’s summer camp. It was a pretty fun experience, and it happens in the last week of every June. I’ve been going here for a few years now, but I have to say that this year was the most fun of them all. So let’s get right into it.
We left the house at around 2:00. It was a 20-minute drive to my dad’s office. After a short drive, we managed to reach the office. As we navigated through the office, we found where the summer camp was held, and currently there was a magic show going on. After that, my dad left me there. This year I was alone, as my brother had fallen sick at that time.
This was a lot more entertaining than last year. Last year there was a puppet show, which was fun, but this year there was a magic show. That was something that I had never seen until now, and it was entertaining to say the least. This went on for about 30 minutes or so.
Then they separated the audience into two groups: people who were younger than 9, and then people who were older than 9, which is mainly the 9–15 group. The people who were younger than 9 went into another room, and then the older ones were left in the same room. They were separated into teams of 4. There were 3 teams in total.
Each team was given a laptop, and each of them had Stich open on it. This session was going to be fun. This session was about AI, the thing that is most popular in today’s day. Specifically GenAI. They were teaching us how we can use Stich to create app screen mockups—the ones that you generally make in Figma. At first, they just taught us how it worked and how we can get a good prompt to use.
After that, the real fun had begun. Now it was practical. It wasn’t a test, but now you had a laptop, and you could use Stich to design a mockup for a real mobile app that maybe, one day, you could actually make. We had gotten a simple app idea—we had to make a habit tracker with alarms and a to-do list. I started typing my prompt, and then I sent the prompt to it.

It gave me a good base to start off with, and then I also added some prompts after that to get some specific prompts to change some of the UI and to add some other options. And after that, our team was done with their design. After that, we presented it to the others.
Then there was a fun exercise where you had to have a team leader, and after that, each person would say a word, and they would add it to a fill-in-the-blank, and then it would end up making a prompt.
After that, there was a storytelling session, which was pretty fun. There were a few stories, and most fun of them all, there was one sentence, and then each person had to say that same sentence with a different emotion. That, in my opinion, was the most fun out of all of them. Then, there was one more story, and then we went up to the cafeteria.
There, everybody had a McDonald’s meal, and we sat there. I chatted a bit, and I made myself a new friend named Om! We shared mutual interests like music taste, and things like TV shows. I talked a bit about what movies I’ve watched, what movies are good to watch, and figured out that he likes Marvel movies. I also got a few recommendations on a few TV shows and movies to watch, overall pretty fun making a new friend. And after that, I finished eating. After I finished eating, as I was coming down, my dad was there to pick me up. So we said bye to everyone and left.
