My Surprise Trip To Rameswaram!

Today I’ll be talking about my trip and experience of going to Rameswaram. My name is Jerry Garrett.

Okay, so we were on a train from Chennai. We reached late at night, around 11:30. Our dad’s colleague picked us up. He was the one who was going to show us around Karaikudi. We had just arrived and didn’t know what the plan was for the next two days. Suddenly, after we got in his car, he said the next day we were going to Rameswaram.

This was perfect luck, because before leaving I had asked my Dad that since Rameswaram is so close to Karaikudi, we could go there and have so much fun at the beach! But we didn’t mention it before reaching Karaikudi. So in that case, this was perfect!

We slept that night, woke up early the next day, and had breakfast at the hotel. It was cheap and delicious. After that, our dad’s colleague picked us up and our three-hour ride to Rameswaram began. I put on some music and we were chatting. One of the topics was the weather there. Compared to North India, the AQI and visibility are much better.

After a short tea break, we reached Rameswaram. As we approached the famous Pamban Bridge, we rolled the windows down. And oh wow, the sea breeze was awesome. You didn’t even need a fan or an air conditioner. We stood there, took pictures, enjoyed the view, and took some more photos.

After that, we went further into the city looking for a place to eat, as it was already about 2:00.

We drove for about 20 minutes and then found a beach resort that had a restaurant. But right next to it was a beach that we could access. We went there and got into the water. We couldn’t get completely wet because we were properly dressed. And I was impressed. It was extremely clean. You could see the seashells at the bottom of the water. It was like no other beach I have been to. There were no waves either, it was completely calm. We stayed there, took lots of photos.

After walking for a bit, finally got to the restaurant. But it turned out the restaurant was only for guests.

So we dried ourselves off, went into the city, and found a restaurant called BISMI Hotel. It was very different from the restaurants I usually eat in. The food there, especially the biryani, was good. Except for the heat, since the restaurant had slow fans and no air conditioner. After finishing our food, we got into the car en route to the hotel. Before leaving Rameswaram, we crossed the Pamban Bridge again and made another stop for 15 minutes.

We had some Kozhi Soda, which is a specialty in Tamil Nadu. With the sea breeze, the view, and the fact that it was cold, it was awesome. It finished quickly, but I enjoyed every second of it. Then we took some final photos and said our goodbyes to the awesome and clean Rameswaram.

It took another three hours, but we finally reached our hotel after a long day.

Special thanks to Suresh Uncle for taking us everywhere! Thank you for reading this blogpost! See you next time!
