Homeschooling: What doors opened me to it?

Don’t wait for the right opportunity: create it.

George Benard Shaw

Greetings, Jerry Garrett here, and I’m delighted to share this week’s post with you. Today, I’ll be discussing my introduction to homeschooling. As mentioned in a previous post, I had been homeschooled for quite some time, since second grade, in fact. Everything seemed to be going swimmingly.

Unbeknownst to me, my father had been researching homeschooling since 2014, nearly a decade ago. He never shared this information with us because we were content with our current situation. Nonetheless, his curiosity persisted, and he continued his research from Northern India.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, my father finally revealed his findings to our family. He wanted us all to make an informed decision together rather than making a unilateral declaration. We delved into our own research and discovered that homeschooling was indeed a good fit for us.

Thus, we embraced homeschooling wholeheartedly, and it has been our chosen path for the past two or three years. That concludes this week’s post. Until next time, farewell!
