These days, lots of people use online tools, including me. But what tools are good, and what are the tools that I use on a daily basis? That’s exactly what I’m going to cover in this blog post today. Let’s dive into it!
Writing
For writing and note-taking, I use an app called Obsidian. I like it. It’s simple and organized. It gets the job done. And if you want it, it has customization and plugins as well. Currently, I use a plugin to publish my notes to a website, which you can find here: https://notes.jerrygarrett.com/
It has useful features, and the best part is that it is free. You don’t have to pay for note-taking, unlike a few other apps that I have used in the past. – https://obsidian.md/
Editing
For editing, I mainly use Filmora 12. It’s a video editor by Wondershare. It isn’t too hard to use, and obviously, it has its limitations. But as I have the perpetual membership, I find it good value for money. Most of the videos I edit are done in Filmora 12. But there are a few times when I want some animations, which I find hard to make in Filmora. https://filmora.wondershare.com/
In that case, I use a software called DaVinci Resolve. It’s a great software, not to mention that it is free. Anything complex that you would generally make in programs like Premiere Pro can be made in DaVinci Resolve. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/
Photo Editing
For my graphic design and thumbnail making, I use a tool called Photopea. It’s an awesome tool. It’s free and browser-based, basically like Photoshop, except it’s free. It helps me make all the complex thumbnails that I want, and I can do all of that for free.
For most of my thumbnails, I use Photopea. I have been using it for the past two years, and I’ve loved using it and exploring its possibilities. It’s hard to get used to at first, but once you do, it’s awesome. https://www.photopea.com/
Coding
For coding, I use an app called Cursor. It’s pretty much like Visual Studio Code. You get all the features and all the plugins that you get in VS Code. Except, there’s one huge difference. In this, you have AI integrated into it.
I’m still learning JavaScript and don’t have complete knowledge of how to make a website. But thanks to Cursor, I was able to make an awesome website. There are also times when I have written my own code in JavaScript, and Cursor can find the bugs in it and fix them. https://cursor.com/
AI
For AI, I use ChatGPT. Most of the time, the main thing I use it for is to correct my grammar. The post you are reading right now has all its grammar refined. But when I write it myself, it isn’t exactly the best. So, I give it to ChatGPT, and it fixes the grammar and gives me the blog post.
Another way I use ChatGPT is to brainstorm. I give it a prompt, like the type of posts I write and the types I want to write. After that, I get ChatGPT to brainstorm with me and come up with blog post ideas that I can write. https://chat.openai.com/
Anyways, that’s it for this post. See you guys next week!
